Real Life Symbolism

I don't believe in symbolism anymore. Not only did I find it incredibly easy to make up within high school literary criticism, but I can find it almost as easily in real life. Just because I see the same person a few times in one day does not mean they will be significant in my life. The fact that it's snowing does not mean my creativity is being stifled. But maybe I'm wrong.
